Your personal invitation to participate in the National Public Confidence in Policing Survey

27/8/2026

Picture
We are delighted to personally invite you to participate in a major new research study exploring people’s views and experiences of crime, anti-social behaviour and policing in the UK.

The research aims to improve:
  • understanding of what shapes public confidence in policing,
  • how confidence changes over time, and
  • the impact of neighbourhood policing on local communities.

On average, it takes 10 minutes to complete, and it is entirely multiple-choice. No questions are mandatory, so you can skip any you would rather not answer. If you get distracted, you can save your progress as you go and come back whenever you wish.
Let's get started!

Rewiring the state - what it means for local infrastructure

26/8/2026

Welcome to this fortnight's NAVCA member newsletter.

I’ve spoken to a few members over the last week or two and the overriding reflection seems to be “it's definitely summer, the weather tells me so. But it's sooo busy!”. Whether it's because colleagues are away and there is work to pick up, or bids to be written, or key meetings to be speaking at, August has felt like a busy month.

And as we enter AGM season, I'd love you to join us at the NAVCA AGM to hear about what we have been up to over the past year, and what is next for the network. Please do book your place and come along.

We'll be sharing our annual report and accounts, and we're also looking for one new Trustee to join the Board. We're particularly keen to bring fresh perspectives and diverse experience to our governance, especially from people involved in volunteering and capacity building. The formal notice and nomination form will be shared in the next newsletter on 9th September. In the meantime, if you're interested in putting yourself forward or would simply like to find out more, please do get in touch.

Meanwhile, there is plenty to read about below to keep yourself up to date, especailly as the new government continues to develop its approach.

You don’t need to have years of experience or hold a particular job title to make a valuable contribution. We’re looking for people who care about Nelson, enjoy working with others and are willing to share their ideas, knowledge and enthusiasm. Every perspective matters, and some of the best ideas come from people who simply want to make a positive difference.
