What is the Little Legends Olympics?
In collaboration with our trusted community partners and our group of young advisors, the Little Legends Olympics will show case a variety of sports in a festival theme. The key aim is to encourage participation and an opportunity to try multiple sports in one day. The focus is on fun and engaging activities for each sport, regardless of skill and ability. We will have access to several tennis courts at Burnley Tennis Club, and the sports hall, field and astro turf at Blessed Trinity College. Welcome to the Get Grants August 2026 Newsletter!
With the summer holidays upon us, we're bringing you this month's key funding deadlines, highlighting some fantastic grant opportunities, and sharing the latest Training and FREE Community Events to help you make the most of the weeks ahead. Whether you're looking to build your fundraising skills this month, we're running some of our most popular training courses, including Bid Writing, Legacy Fundraising, Corporate Fundraising, and Trusts & Foundations. We're in the midsummer of Climate Lab Pendle.
It's been our intention to work seasonally, promoting a healthy way of working together that gives space for emergence, and values time for rest and reflection as well as co-learning and delivering. Following a Spring and early Summer of establishing the Community Collective; taking part in listening sessions and hosting co-learning events, high summer is our time to make new connections. And so we've been getting out and about and meeting new people over the last few weeks. Team members delivered a lively Climate Fresk for local women at Pavillion Cafe, and this weekend we're holding another Fresk with a Quaker group where we will experiment with a circular conversation format in response to this context. And we held the public launch of the programme at the Pendle Festival of Culture, where thousands of people were gathering to connect and have fun in Nelson. Get Grants Bid-Writing Training Course provides practical support to help improve your grant fundraising success and build your confidence as a grant fundraiser.
Get Grants Bid Writing Training Course is our longest-running course, and most popular training course, helping thousands of fundraisers improve their bid writing skills, insight and confidence. Welcome to this week's NAVCA member newsletter.
I know I always say this, but this week is full of information you’ll want to read and refer back to. It does feel like changing times. I won’t repeat here the government’s stance on devolution, pushing decisions closer to where people are, but I do really welcome the message of hope that comes with that. On theme of being future-focused and, importantly, hopeful, there are a couple of things to point to. At NAVCA, we have been pulling together our thinking about the future face of local infrastructure. The world is changing, not least with local government reorganisation, health reforms, and an increased focus on neighbourhoods, but also increasing competition for infrastructure support and a growing trend towards funder plus rather than investing in infrastructure more widely. The blog below pulls that together to make the case for infrastructure as an essential part of the system (not an optional extra) which needs to be supported, nurtured and funded. Do use what we've written, or adapt it to suit your own circumstances and stakeholders - and let us know whether this has been helpful! Welcome to your Community Bulletin! - Rossendale Council produce a monthly bulletin with our health and community partners to keep you updated on the community support and activities happening across Rossendale.

How does our way of working shape our interactions with others?
In this film the In-Situ team think out loud about experiences of working in more hierarchical contexts and local decision making settings, and how our way of working translates outside of the team.
