News/For Information
We are working with artists Rob St John and Tommy Perman to create a sound and image archive and exhibition of people's experience of the town past, present and future.
We're asking people for stories, songs, sounds, photographs, films or memorabilia to share around the subject. If you've anything to share, please send to [email protected] or 07508 902 008 and your contributions will be part of a new archive, which will be exhibited in Autumn 2026. Information for parents to protect their children through vaccination.
We know your child’s health is your top priority and so protecting them from serious disease is incredibly important. That is why the NHS offers a free childhood vaccine programme, safeguarding your child from certain illnesses. Vaccines work by causing the body’s immune system to remember the specific infection targeted in each vaccine. If your child comes into contact with an infection and they have had their vaccines, your child’s body will recognise that infection and quickly respond to fight off diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough and more. How are you doing, Lancashire?
There’s a lot happening in our County right now - and it’s going to affect the arts in ways both challenging and exciting. If your art is part of, or all of, your income, this is something you’ll want to pay attention to. Devolution is in progress, but culture isn’t yet one of the the three pillars that the new Lancashire Combined County Authority is built on. Could a directly elected Mayor change that - supporting local artists, boosting creative spaces, and putting culture at the heart of our region’s future? We’d love to know what you think – share your thoughts with us on this in the comments. Local Government Re-organisation is looming. The Lancashire we have known since 1974 - following the changes introduced by the Local Government Act 1972, and save for the 1998 shift that made Blackburn and Blackpool unitary authorities alongside Lancashire County Council - is set to change again. A belated Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus (or Happy St David’s day) everyone, but especially our 52,000 members in Wales. St David was a 6th century monk, born in Pembrokeshire who famously advised: “Do the little things in life.” I love that advice, it chimes so well with what Neighbourhood Watch members do all the time. Through small actions every day, we make our streets better, safer and friendlier places to live.
We have a date that we want you to put in your calendars. 1-7 June will be Neighbourhood Watch Week – the theme this year will be “communi-tea”. Yes, you read that correctly, it’s a mixture of community and tea party, and who doesn’t love a tea party? Find out more about what we have planned here. Local Charity Launches ‘IMPACT CLUB’ with GB Integrated Systems as Founding Diamond Ambassador
COLNE, LANCASHIRE – Positive Action in the Community (PAC) is proud to announce the official launch of the IMPACT CLUB, a strategic new partnership initiative designed to unite the local business community in the fight against homelessness, domestic abuse, and mental health challenges. Leading the charge as the first ever Founding Diamond Ambassador is Colne based technology specialist, GB Integrated Systems (GBIS). Launched on the 15th of February 2026, the IMPACT CLUB offers a tiered patronage scheme that allows businesses of all sizes, from sole traders to large corporations, to provide sustainable, predictable support for PAC’s frontline services. A Landmark Partnership GB Integrated Systems, a trusted provider of fire, security, communications, AV and automation solutions, has stepped up to the highest level of membership. As a Diamond Ambassador, GBIS is committing not only significant financial resources but also a dedicated year of close collaboration to represent PAC within the wider business community. You may remember that last year we conducted a research project into the lives of disabled people across Lancashire and their experiences accessing health and social care services.
In our initial project analysis, we found that transport and accessibility were the top concerns and barriers. This prompted us to investigate further the state of transport and accessibility to health and social care for disabled people living in Lancashire. We are pleased to announce that our Disability Voices Phase 2 Report is now live on our website, and we would love to encourage you to have a read. |
