A week-long celebration of the country’s more than 10,000 village halls will officially launch during a special opening event in rural Lancashire next month.
Village Halls Week, which runs between Monday 16 and Sunday 22 March, is an annual event that highlights the enormous positive impact that community buildings have on the lives of people living in rural areas. This year’s week is themed around the topic of health and wellbeing, with the launch of the seven-day spectacle taking place for the first time in the Lancashire village of Parbold on Friday 13 March. We are pleased to invite you to attend the KETA-WHAT? Conference, taking place on Wednesday 18th March 2026 at Invisibles Lounge, Blackburn Rovers Football Club (BB2 4JF).
This conference will explore the use of ketamine in Lancashire, its impact on individuals, communities and services, and how we can work together to prevent harm and raise awareness of associated risks. The event brings together professionals, community organisations, educators, health services and people with lived experience to share insight, challenge misconceptions and strengthen local responses. Warm Welcome is a UK-wide movement creating free, inclusive spaces where anyone can find warmth, connection, and support.
Born during the cost-of-living crisis, it now operates year-round through 5,500+ community venues including libraries, cafés, and faith centres. These spaces offer a lifeline for those facing isolation, financial hardship and tough choices between heating and eating, providing not just physical warmth but also friendship, vital support and belonging close to home. Last winter, they recorded 2.6 million visits, with 70% of guests feeling less isolated and 87% reporting better mental wellbeing. January is often described as the coldest and loneliest time of the year, with “Blue Monday” symbolizing its lowest point. Warm Welcome Week is here to change that. |
