What Is The Volunteering for Wellbeing & Community Hub?
The Volunteering for Wellbeing & Community Hub at BPRCVS is the place to go for all things volunteering. What we don't know about volunteering isn't worth knowing! Whether you're an individual looking for voluntary opportunities or a VCFSE group or organisation looking to recruit volunteers, we can help.
The Importance Of Volunteering
BPRCVS' Chief Officer, Christine Blythe, officially opened the Volunteering for Wellbeing & Community Hub at the launch event on 14th December 2023. Check out the video below from the event where Christine talks about the importance of volunteering and why this new project is needed.
The Only Officially Accredited Volunteer Centre In East Lancashire
BPRCVS has recently been awarded the new Volunteer Centre Quality Accreditation (VCQA) mark from the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA). We are the only Volunteer Centre throughout East Lancashire, and maybe even beyond, that has passed the quality control checks as set by NAVCA to achieve the quality accreditation kite mark. This means we operate to exceptionally high standards and fulfil NAVCA's desired criteria.
How Do I Volunteer?
There are hundreds voluntary roles and we're not short of opportunities across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. To get started on your volunteering journey, begin by thinking about what type of role you might like to do. This could be in a charity shop, befriending, supporting elderly people, or volunteer driver schemes, to name but a few of the types of opportunity available.
Check out the leaflets below which explain a little more on why volunteering is beneficial and how The Hub helps.

How Do I Recruit Volunteers For My Group?
The Volunteering for Wellbeing & Community Hub operates a brokerage service whereby we will find suitable volunteers for your group, organisation or project. Our volunteer coordinators can support potential volunteers with the application process where necessary. Give the Hub a call to discuss your needs in detail. A brief meeting will be arranged to give you the opportunity to speak to a volunteer coordinator about the roles you have available, and the type of people you would like to recruit. From there the Hub will reach out to our bank of potential volunteers and promote your opportunities across BPRCVS channels to identify suitable and interested volunteers to help you out.
