Briercliffe Parish Council is seeking volunteers.
We are looking for those with an interest in history. We have lots (and we mean lots) of old documents that need scanning and uploading to our online storage system. This will be archive work; we need to preserve these documents as a historical record. It is part of the Parish Council’s mission to preserve and share the social history of our area. By digitising this history, we are preserving social history and making it accessible. We are holding a series of free 30-minute online Information Sessions over the next few months. Details can be found on our Eventbrite page including the details of the next one in a couple of weeks time. If this/ they can be shared with prospective volunteers, please, that would be fabulous.
These events are an opportunity to hear about Action Tutoring from a member of staff for 15 minutes and then have the opportunity to ask any questions ahead of applying, for example about individual circumstances, qualifications or experience suitable to the role. We have entered an exciting phase of expansion and will need more volunteers than ever next academic year. Of course, this also allows us to reach more children facing disadvantage and volunteers than ever too, so all the help you can give us will, as ever, be very gratefully received. If there are any questions, please just ask and if you would like a call about collaboration in the new academic year, please see my schedule and book a slot here. RNIB are working with the Motability Foundation to make travel and transport easy for blind and partially sighted people. We need your help to imagine a future where everyone can travel smoothly.
