The Great Get Together (20-22 June 2025) is the UK’s annual celebration of everything that unites our communities, inspired by Jo Cox’s belief that we have more in common than that which divides us.
We hope you’re considering organising a Great Get Together this June, because community events that bring people together feel more needed than ever. Burnley Working Wild has seen 6 programmes of Lancashire Wildlife Trust's innovative and transformational “Wildworks” programme of nature-based employability course throughout the town.
The courses give participants an introduction to volunteering and working in the environmental sector. All participants involved gain practical skills, and also receive targeted support in applying and interviewing for training and employment if they wish to join the green sector. You don't have to be looking for work though, the sessions also provide an environment to improve wellbeing and resilience through contact with nature. Accredited training is also offered as part of the sessional delivery. Join us for our final session at The CVS Centre! LAUNCHING TUESDAY 13TH MAY 2025 - woMEn TIME
