OUR NEXT SPRING/SUMMER MAGAZINE WILL DROP WEEK COMMENCING 31ST MARCH - Please check your emails or post depending on how you choose to receive your magazine. In case you missed it... we have a new facility in Bacup! We are pleased to announce that we have acquired a new property on Yorkshire Street in Bacup! This will become our 4th charity shop/Information & Support hub! Once renovated the property will house a two floor charity shop with an information and support hub and also a community meeting room space. Here, carers and the wider communities from Rossendale will be able to drop in and receive much needed services and support. The facility will be open to all, with the meeting space being used for training, support groups and also for the community to use. Our aim as a charity is to create self sustaining charity shops / facilities in each of the boroughs we support in East Lancashire! This is very exciting news, not just for our charity and carers but also in supporting the regeneration work that is well underway in Bacup after being awarded Level Up Funding to improve the market. We are pleased to announce that the Morrisons Foundation have kindly committed to supporting the charity in developing the information and support hub and also community space at the facility. A massive thank you to the foundation for this support. We look forward to this facility opening its doors later this year! Keep your eyes peeled on our social media platforms for exciting updates! Help Drumming for Wellbeing to keep on beating! In 2016, Carers Link Lancashire set up a small drumming social group, to give unpaid carers an opportunity to drum their troubles and worries away, and to chat with other attendees for peer support and friendship. This group has since blossomed and runs separately today as an independent community group! But the group need your help as funding options have come to a halt. They are seeking donations from the general public, however small, to their gofundme page linked below which will allow the group, for at least another year, to: • Pay for the lovely venue that has become our drumming circle home and for a skilled drum circle facilitator; • Provide and maintain our set of drums and percussion for everyone to use; • Expand Our Reach. We want to continue to bring drum circles to our communities, beyond socio-economical, age and diverse abilities barriers. Please give as little or as much as you can to help to keep this unique drumming circle running, which has become a vital part of the wellbeing of our community! If you would like to JOIN the Drumming for Wellbeing group, it is £6 per session which includes equipment provided plus refreshments, and they meet at Nazareth Unitarian Church in Padiham on alternate Fridays.
