As the colder months settle in, it’s more important than ever to support our communities in staying warm, healthy, and well-informed. The Keep Well in Winter campaign, led by Burnley Together and supported by key partners like BPRCVS, is designed to provide essential winter health and wellbeing advice, ensuring that vulnerable residents have access to the right information and resources. This campaign is a fantastic opportunity for local organisations, charities, and service providers to work together, amplify key messages, and ensure that vital support reaches those who need it most. By pooling our resources and sharing information across different networks, we can extend our reach and maximise the impact of this campaign. How Can We Work Together?
There are many ways we can all contribute to spreading the word and ensuring that residents benefit from the campaign: 🔹 Use and Share Campaign Resources – A comprehensive toolkit has been developed, including social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other promotional materials. These assets can be used across various channels, whether online or in community spaces. 🔹 Promote on Social Media – Regular updates and key messages are being shared via Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. By resharing posts, creating local conversations, and engaging with followers, we can increase awareness and encourage action. 🔹 Engage with Vulnerable Groups – The campaign particularly aims to support older adults, people with long-term health conditions, young children, and those at risk of financial hardship. If your organisation works with these groups, consider signposting them to relevant resources and support services. 🔹 Host or Promote Local Events – Community engagement is key. Whether it’s a local drop-in session, a wellbeing event, or a workshop, promoting the campaign through direct engagement can make a real difference. 🔹 Strengthen Partnerships – This campaign is a joint effort with many organisations, including Age UK, Lancashire County Council, Citizens Advice East Lancashire, East Lancashire NHS Trust, and more. By working together, we can ensure a coordinated approach to winter wellbeing. Why This Matters Winter can be a particularly difficult time for many, with challenges like cold homes, rising living costs, and increased health risks. The Keep Well in Winter campaign provides practical advice on keeping homes warm, accessing financial support, staying safe in cold weather, and maintaining good health during the winter months. By collaborating, we can make sure this crucial information reaches as many people as possible—helping residents stay safe, warm, and supported. Get Involved Today! BPRCVS encourages all partners and community organisations to make the most of the available resources and integrate them into their own outreach efforts. Let’s work together to ensure that everyone in our community has the support they need to get through winter safely.
