Introducing Our New 5 Year Strategy

As a valued partner of The King’s Trust, we wanted you to be among the first to hear about the launch of our new organisational strategy.
Our strategy will underpin everything we do at The Trust over the next five years, guiding us in the decisions we make as we strive to build a future that works for young people. You can read it by downloading it, or a summary of it, here.

As we finalised this strategy, the number of young people across the U.K. who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) rose to almost a million. This is the highest that NEET levels have been since 2013. An increasing number of young people are becoming unemployed and staying that way, with more than a third of unemployed young people currently long-term unemployed.

It is with this in mind that everything about our new strategy has been designed to help young people build their confidence and skills and ultimately break the cycle of unemployment. With The Trust’s scale and heritage, and the support of brilliant partners like you, we are uniquely placed to help.

Our new vision and mission
In light of the context in which we will deliver our new strategy, we have set a new, clear vision and mission for the organisation.

Our new vision is: Ending youth unemployment.

Our new mission statement is: Breaking down barriers. Opening doors. We support young people to build the confidence and skills they need to find work.

What’s next?
We’re excited to bring you our new strategy today, but the real work begins now, as colleagues across The Trust start to develop delivery plans and success measures in response to it.

Our partnership with you remains an important part of our journey towards realising the goals set out in our new strategy. Thank you for everything you do, we look forwards to continuing to work with you as we head into this exciting new phase.
