EAST LANCASHIRE COMMUNITY ACTION PROJECT wins National Lottery funding East Lancashire Community Action Project is celebrating after being awarded £15,000 of National Lottery funding from Sport England to assist with their ‘Walking Sport in Pendle’ project for people aged 65 and over. The grant will allow East Lancashire Community Action Project to organise free sports sessions for people aged 65 years and over. Sports will include light exercise including badminton, yoga, table tennis and green bowling East Lancashire Community Action Project is a registered charity based in Nelson and one of their core aims is to support residents from the community with their health and wellbeing needs.
Iram Sayeed, Project Coordinator at East Lancashire Community Action Project, is thrilled to have been awarded the funding: “We are delighted to have secured this investment which allows us to support the elders in our community and help improve their health and wellbeing. Thank you to everyone who plays the National Lottery, we wouldn’t be able to do this without you." Further details about the project will be shared soon. East Lancashire Community Action Project is a registered charity based in Nelson, which operates Pendle Community Radio, a full time community radio station on the 103.1FM frequency. The charity also helps to support socially disadvantaged people from the local area by providing them with the necessary training and activities.
