Do you need some me time and rest bite from your caring role? Then why not come to one of our carers meet ups, all across East Lancashire Are you a former Carer? Have you recently lost someone and are looking for some support? On the third Wednesday of every month we run a former carer and bereavement support group for those who are no longer carers and/or have lost the person they once cared for. The next session will be on Wednesday 21st May 2025 11am-1pm Are you looking after someone who has recently been diagnosed with, or is living with cancer? Every month, a Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Team hosts a monthly cafe group session to provide advice and information for you. The next session will be on Wednesday 7th May 2025 10am-12noon Are you looking after someone who has been diagnosed with, or is in the process of being diagnosed with Autism/ASD? Join our dedicated ASD Support Officer for a brew and a chat, and perhaps advice and support around daily life, education, etc. No booking required. WoMEn TIME, is all about you having ME TIME, to have a brew and a chat with our staff and fellow carers for friendship, advice and peer-to-peer support from those in similar caring roles. We are pleased to share that Hyndburn Leisure has secured funding to deliver a 12-week pilot programme designed to support Unpaid Carers through tailored, inclusive multi-sport activities. Following the recent survey we shared and collaborated with Hyndburn Leisure on, seeking your input in shaping the scheme, they will be offering walking football, standing yoga, cricket, netball, beginners bootcamps and rounders for all abilities! All activities will take place at Hyndburn Leisure Centre on the 3G pitch, offering participants the opportunity to meet new people and learn about other services and support available in Hyndburn. At the end of the 12-week programme, a special celebration event will be held for all participants and coaches involved. By joining the panel, you’ll have the opportunity to share your unique experiences, offer valuable insights, and help shape projects that truly make a difference. Lived Experience can be direct or indirect (you may have friends or family that have mental health challenges).
