On the third Wednesday of every month we run a former carer and bereavement support group for those who are no longer carers and/or have lost the person they once cared for. Cygnet Autism Training Course - Clitheroe The Cygnet programme was developed by Barnardo’s with the support of parents and/or care givers, for parents and care givers! The course aims to create a supportive environment of carers who may be experiencing similar challenges, and to present information on autism that provides opportunities for you to consider and adapt and/or reinforce the way you support your child’s needs. We ask that if you wish to undertake the course, you try to attend all sessions, are open to participating in activities, and remember confidentiality of those sharing within the groups. This will make the course more enjoyable and effective for all! Charity fundraisers 2025 - Yorkshire Three Peaks In summer, our staff are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Carers Link Lancashire! We have two staff groups taking on the challenge - a team of our staff and their partners, The Red Hot Chilli Steppers! They will be taking part on 28th June. We also have Matt, bravely taking part as a solo challenge in August! They are taking on the Three Peaks to raise vital funds for our charity to continue to support over 11,000 unpaid carers and over 100 Young Carers aged from just 6 years old, across East Lancashire. At the end of 2025, we are looking to undertake this act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers or stones - a test of courage in overcoming fear, strength and mind over matter. For a small participation fee, we are seeking people who would raise a minimum of £100 in donations/sponsors, and take on this adventurous challenge with us! Register your interest TODAY! Email [email protected] Royal National Institute of the Blind - Family and Friend Support Do you have a friend or family member with low or no vision?
At RNIB, they know sight loss has an impact on friends and family, who, in many cases, are the main support for blind and partially sighted people. To help manage the challenges around this, RNIB have created a Focus on Friends and Family course for adults. The course is for adults living in the UK and lasts for one hour a week over four weeks for up to 60 minutes. The next one is on Tuesday 4 March 2025 at 6.30pm with future dates and times being added. You will find out about organisations, products, and services available to help you and opportunities to learn from and discuss personal experiences and share top tips. Interested?
