We are very pleased to have Professor Enitan Carrol from the University of Liverpool as our keynote speaker. Professor Carrol sets up and leads the successful National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-funded Research Scholars Programme, which is now rolled out across the whole North West region, and has delivered a new generation of research leaders who are contributing to building research capacity and capability across the North West. Her vision is to embed research into routine NHS care, improve diversity and reach of research delivery and build capacity and capability in health and social care and the voluntary sector. Professor Carrol will be discussing the importance of partnership working between academia, health research, and the VCFSE sector at the conference. Workshop Speakers In addition to the keynote speech, we have lined up a series of breakout workshops featuring specialists from the sector who will lead discussions on various topics. They are: Rob Woods, Director of Bright Spot Fundraising, who will be leading the workshop ‘Story Power: 5 Ideas that Help You Increase Fundraising Income Through Story-Telling’. Rachel Jones, Head of Performance and Operations at Sefton CVS, who will be leading the workshop ‘Exploring Social Impact with Sefton Social Value Toolkit: The Opportunity to Leverage Value Toolkit to Secure Income’. Ben Whalley, CEO of Gaddum, Yen Tan, Operations Director of VSNW and Joyce Borgs, Head of Digital Learning and Transformation of CAST. They will be jointly leading the workshop ‘Harnessing the Power of AI: Practical Implementation Steps for VCFSE Groups to Make Use of AI’. Greville Kelly, Director of Groundwork CLM, and Louise Bent, Sustainable Business Consultant at Groundwork, will be leading the workshop ‘Greening Communities: Where to Begin? Exploring Sustainability, Net-Zero, and Funding Opportunities’. The day will include refreshments and lunch, and it is free to attend.
