What is the aim of Network35?
RNIB has been working with a wide range of blind and partially sighted people over the last six months, to understand what the future may look like for them in 2035. They have also helped us test some ideas about what a future RNIB should look like. We now want to build on what we have learned and are seeking more involvement from blind and partially sighted people to help shape our future direction further, helping us make our organisation more sustainable, increasing our impact, and reaching even more people who need our support.


To achieve this, we want to establish a diverse network of people with a visual impairment, called Network35 and ensure the network is as representative as possible, with a mix of gender, age, ethnicity, level of sight loss, and locality. We expect the network to have a membership of between 40 – 50 people and is expected to run from January 2026 - August 2026

We’re currently recruiting for a General Hub Support Volunteer, and we’d love to connect with individuals who are passionate about supporting women and building community.
 
Here’s a brief overview of the role:
We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a welcoming and trauma-informed space at our Burnley Centre. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, supporting others, and being part of a caring team.

We are looking to strengthen our Board with the appointment of two voluntary Trustees who can bring strategic insight, independent judgement & a commitment to our mission.

We’re keen to hear from people who can bring a range of experiences & perspectives. Ideally, we’d like to appoint at least one Trustee who is local to East Lancashire & we’re also interested in candidates with one or more of the following:

Business experience & community links
Experience of business or charity growth & development
Knowledge of the charity sector
Experience of working at a regional or UK-wide level
