So, we launched a week-long campaign to share more. AIS is in place to ensure that everyone gets health & care info in a format they can use and understand, alongside the right support to access these services. That means that services should: Be contactable in accessible ways (email or text, etc) Provide info in formats individuals can use (audio, braille, easy read, large print) Have communication support at appointments (example: a BSL interpreter) Have help on hand to communicate (example: lip-reading, using hearing aids) Provide a complaints procedure that meets different communication needs Ageing Well Without Family Our latest project is titled 'Ageing Well Without Family' and aims to gather the views and experiences of individuals in Lancashire who might not have an immediate support network or family. We want to understand people's knowledge, expectations and needs when it comes to ageing to help services be better prepared for those who may need more support than others. Please share our survey far and wide, or complete it yourself. This survey is open to all ages to understand views on your future. Enter and View Recently, Healthwatch Lancashire made an announced visit to Queen Square Medical Practice in Lancaster, for an Enter and View visit to speak to patients and staff about the care provided. Queen Square Medical Practice has approximately 15,900 registered patients including patients in local nursing/care homes and those who may be housebound. Patients provided some mixed feedback with one individual sharing "Staff are always really nice; I’ve not has a bad experience." Some felt that their appointments were rushed and “feel that you are pressured in and out, which can make it difficult." This report was published in October 2025.
