The Burnley May Day Committee has now begun organising our 2025 Burnley May Day Festival. The venue, Towneley Park, has hosted the festival for over forty years; owned by the borough of Burnley its grounds and historic buildings have been a popular attraction for both local people and tourists. This makes it an ideal setting for a Bank Holiday event, hosting fairground attractions, various refreshment stands, live music and much more. With such widespread appeal the May Day Festival provides a great opportunity for trades unions and community groups, at all levels, to raise their profiles and promote their values and aims.
Obviously, this requires funding and the advertising revenue raised by the souvenir brochure is essential to the future success of the Burnley May Day Festival. Your adverts are a vital part of our funding. The event costs over £5,000 to put on and every advert helps. Sadly, rising costs have forced us to increase our prices for the first time since 2008, I hope that you will still be able to support us. Please help us to keep Burnley May Day a continuing success by placing an advert in the 2025 souvenir brochure; simply fill in the attached order form and either post it to me at the address below along with a cheque for the correct amount, or email it to [email protected]. Payment can be made by bank transfer using the account details on the order form and your organisation’s name as a reference. A stall booking form is also attached which should be returned to me using the same procedure as above. Stalls can be in the marquee or on the field. Stalls in the marquee include a trestle table of approximately 2 metres by 1 metre and two folding chairs. Stalls cost £15 for trade unions, campaign groups and charities or £30 for trade. Could I also ask that brochure advert orders are placed by the 7th March 2025 at the absolute latest, in order that plenty of time is allowed for printing. In recent years waiting for orders that have been promised has led to delays in distribution, thus leading to loss of sales. The aim is to have them printed and on sale by the end of March.
