We've been busy this month at Healthwatch Lancashire! In this month's newsletter were showcasing our exhibition in collaboration with The Harris Museum and Inspire Youth Zone in Chorley, which is supporting the release of our Impact of Social Media on Young People report. We talk more about our GP Surgery survey, which aims to understand how people are engaging with their GP and how different appointment or information needs are met. We're also sharing more about our recent visit to Parkgate Surgery in Ormskirk Our exhibition in collaboration with The Harris Museum and Inspire Youth Zone We recently published our Impact of Social Media on Young People project report after gathering over 1,000 pieces of feedback from young people, parents, and guardians across Lancashire to understand their views on social media and health information. We wanted to showcase our findings creatively and engagingly whilst involving young people, who, without them, this project would not have been possible. We are incredibly grateful to the young people at Inspire Youth Zone in Chorley who took the time to create artwork based on the report and their views on social media🎨 Harris Museum Preston Open until 1 November Free entry Tell us about your GP Surgery Have you contacted your GP practice recently? Whether you were booking an urgent or routine appointment, ordering a repeat prescription, getting test results, chasing a referral, or asking for information, we'd like to hear about your experience. Your feedback will help us understand what's working well, identify any challenges people are facing, and highlight where improvements may be needed. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete. Parkgate Surgery Enter and ViewOur recent Enter and View visit to Parkgate Surgery painted a very positive picture of the practice.
Patients told us they value the surgery's triage system and consistently described staff as friendly, approachable and helpful. We also heard about the strong teamwork behind the scenes, with staff committed to delivering the best possible care. While the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, we recommended making information about repeat prescription ordering options clearer for patients. Overall, the visit highlighted a welcoming practice that listens to feedback and is continually looking for ways to improve. Comments are closed.
