Collaboration Opportunity with CalderStones Community CIC

24/9/2026

Picture
CalderStones Community CIC is inviting local organisations, community groups and service providers to explore opportunities to work alongside the organisation in supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and additional support needs.

The community-based service is currently developing a programme of meaningful, practical and confidence-building opportunities designed to help the people who attend build skills, increase independence and become more involved in their local community.
The aim is to create a welcoming, accessible and low-stimulus environment where individuals can access a range of activities, services and learning opportunities in a setting that feels familiar and supportive.

For many people with additional support needs, accessing busy community venues, health settings, gyms, salons or advice services can be challenging. By bringing services directly into CalderStones, attendees can gradually build confidence, establish relationships with local professionals and develop the skills needed to access services independently within the wider community.

Opportunities for Local OrganisationsCalderStones is keen to hear from organisations and individuals who may be interested in delivering sessions, activities or support within the centre.
This could include:
  • One-off introductory or educational sessions
  • Monthly or six-weekly activities
  • Regular weekly or fortnightly sessions
  • Individual appointments
  • Group workshops and demonstrations
  • Advice, information and practical skills sessions
The format and delivery model can be tailored to suit the needs of both the provider and the people attending CalderStones.
Areas of Interest

Potential sessions could cover a wide range of topics, including:
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Exercise and fitness
  • Yoga and dance
  • Personal care, hair and beauty
  • Advocacy and communication
  • Money management
  • Independent living skills
  • Community safety
  • Employment and volunteering skills
  • Health education
Organisations with expertise in other areas that support independence, confidence and community involvement are also encouraged to get involved.

Building Long-Term Community Connections

The vision for CalderStones is to create meaningful, long-term relationships between local organisations and the people who attend the service. By developing these connections early, individuals can gain confidence and become familiar with support services before they reach a point of crisis.
Interested organisations are welcome to visit the centre, learn more about the service and discuss potential partnership opportunities. Meetings can be arranged either on a one-to-one basis or as part of a wider discussion with other potential community partners.
There is no expectation that organisations provide services free of charge. CalderStones is open to discussing session fees, funded opportunities, partnership arrangements and other delivery models to ensure a sustainable and beneficial collaboration for everyone involved.
For further information or to arrange an informal visit, organisations are encouraged to contact CalderStones Community CIC directly.
