Happy new year! We hope you’ve had a great start to 2026 and thank you so much for continuing to support us. Here at Mind HQ, we’re looking forward to another year of fighting for mental health, and there’s lots coming up that you can get involved with... Get active and feel good this new year 🤸 Lots of us make new year’s resolutions to get our bodies moving more, and why not, when physical activity has so many amazing benefits for managing mental health problems and overall wellbeing. It can help us get more sleep, reduce stress and improves mood. But like everything, it’s important to go at your own pace and exercise safely. And that will be different for everyone. For some, training for a marathon or signing up to spin class might be their next step, while for others it might be getting out for a short walk each day, doing chair yoga or dancing in the kitchen. All movement counts towards moving your body more, so only do what feels good for you. Check out our online information for tips on how to feel better inside and out, at a pace that suits you. Ideas for getting active Get ready to go behind the music... This year we'll be joined by a brand-new cohort of musical artists in our Behind the Song video series, exploring the beautiful relationship between music and mental health. Last year, we met some incredible musicians – from Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards to singer-songwriter, Yungblud. All sharing new music inspired by their own experiences and discussing what mental health means to them. You can catch up with the whole series on our YouTube channel, as well as the first episode of our new series featuring singer-songwriter Joy Crookes and her new album, Juniper. And keep your eyes peeled for our next episode, coming very soon... we promise it’s worth the wait! Go behind the songs Friday 30 January marks Parent Mental Health Day, and we just wanted to let all the parents out there know that we see you and we’re here for you. We want to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of prioritising parent’s mental health, the unsung heroes who themselves support the mental health of entire family units. It can be easy to neglect our own mental health and wellbeing when we’re caring for someone else, but it’s so important that parents and other caregivers look after themselves too. Particularly if you’re also living with mental health problems. It can be daunting knowing where to begin with self-care, but changes don’t always have to be big and time-consuming, there are plenty of small things we can do that can help us enormously day-to-day. Our information on parenting and mental health can help. Time to Talk Day is a day for us to come together, talk, listen and support one another. Talking can be tough, but it’s also powerful. Opening up about how you’re feeling could be the first step towards reaching out for help, or the sentence that inspires someone else to open up or reach out too. And don’t forget, use the hashtag #TimeToTalk on social media if you’re getting involved in Time to Talk Day this year – we’d love to see and support what you’re doing.
