Rossendale to Host Vibrant Sport, Physical Activity and Wellbeing Festival at Marl Pits
 
The community is set to come alive with energy and activity as the Rossendale Sport, Physical Activity and Wellbeing Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday 2nd May at Marl Pits.
This free, family-friendly festival will bring together residents of all ages and abilities for a day dedicated to health, fitness, and community wellbeing. With a packed schedule of inclusive activities, the event aims to inspire people to get active, try something new, and connect with local sports and wellbeing opportunities.
 
The festival will feature a wide range of activities running throughout the day, including:
  • Triathlon (8:00–11:00)
  • Rugby Union sessions (10:00–14:00)
  • Disability sports and inclusive events (10:00–14:00)
  • American Football (11:00–13:00)
  • Guided Walk (12:00–13:00)
  • Football 3v3 Tournament (13:00–14:00)
  • Yoga sessions (13:00–14:00)
 
A highlight of the day will be the FREE 3v3 Football Tournament, inviting teams to register in advance and compete in a fun, fast-paced format. Registration is open via email at [email protected].
 
Organisers are committed to making the festival accessible and welcoming, with activities designed to suit all fitness levels, including dedicated disability events to ensure everyone can take part.

“This festival is about bringing the community together through sport, activity, and wellbeing,” said an event organiser. “Whether you’re an experienced athlete or just looking to try something new, there’s something for everyone.”
 
Held at Marl Pits leisure and sports site, the event provides the perfect setting for a day of outdoor activity, social connection, and healthy living.
