 EXPLORE OUR OFFER
Building mentally healthy workplaces with a whole organisational approach

With adults spending a third of their lives at work, mental health isn’t just a personal issue; it’s a business-critical one. Without mental health support, people struggle to stay engaged and productive, with one in ten UK workers considering leaving their jobs due to poor workplace mental health (1). Our enhanced training and consultancy offer enables you to build mentally healthy workplaces, from evidence-based training and consultancy to ongoing support.
The result: Workplaces where wellbeing and performance go hand-in-hand.

Mental Health First Aid: A complete support package

Supporting employee mental health is crucial for building thriving and resilient workplaces. Our MHFA® training sets the national standard for workplace mental health, helping boost engagement, keeping people in their roles, and unlocking untapped economic potential, with early interventions returning £5–£6.30 for every £1 spent (2). Read how our training improves workplace mental health for the organisations we work with, in our real-life case studies.

Start building a mentally healthy workplace

However, MHFA isn’t just about a course. It’s about activating a vibrant peer network, empowering your people with ongoing support, and embedding mental health as a visible part of your culture. Going beyond the initial training, we offer a distinctive enhanced MHFA support package, helping you to:

— Sustain continuous engagement and confidence among trained MHFAiders
— Inspire an open, connected, and mentally healthy workplace culture
— Strengthen commitment to psychological safety and employee wellbeing
— Provide insights and evidence of impact for leaders and stakeholders
— Embed mental health into policy, planning, and culture

With our MHFA offer, you embed a whole infrastructure of wellbeing into your organisation. The result is a workplace where stigma is reduced, employees feel supported, teams perform at their best, and mental health is part of everyday culture.

Shape the future of workplace mental health: MHFA standards consultation

As we continue to integrate mental health into workplace culture, MHFA England® has launched a public consultation on draft Workplace Mental Health First Aid Standards. For the first time, clear, practical standards have been proposed for embedding MHFA across workplaces. They give employers clarity, support MHFAiders, and make MHFA part of prevention, early intervention, and lasting culture change — not just a tick-box exercise.
But standards only work if they are credible and actionable. Your insight is vital to shaping what good standards look like. The consultation runs until 10 December 2025. Add your response here, and please share the consultation with your networks.

Shaping the future of wellbeing

Policy and practice: Strengthening workplace mental health

It’s been a busy time in the workplace mental health arena, with two major developments shaping how organisations can better support their people. The recently published Government’s Keep Britain Working Review calls for urgent action to tackle the rise in ill health pushing people out of work, highlighting the importance of prevention, early intervention, and confident leadership.

These themes are all central to MHFA England’s mission.
The Review’s call for stronger support for line managers directly aligns with our newly launched people manager training portfolio, designed to close the gap between manager influence and manager confidence. The courses in the portfolio translate the Review’s ambitions into action, building leadership confidence and driving culture change to keep Britain working well.

At the same time, new guidance published this month is helping workplaces strengthen their role in suicide prevention. The British Standards Institution (BSI) has published BS 30480: Suicide and the workplace – Intervention, prevention and support for people affected by suicide. It is the world’s first national standard on suicide and the workplace. Developed with input from more than 70 organisations and experts, including MHFA England’s Chief Executive, Sarah McIntosh, who sat on the steering committee, the standard offers practical steps to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support those affected by suicide. It’s freely available and adaptable for organisations of all sizes.
