NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, together with University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), is seeking feedback from people living in north Lancashire, Westmorland, and Furness on hospital and community care via an online questionnaire. The ICB is investing in a variety of ways to reduce demand on hospital services by increasing capacity in the community. This includes strengthening primary care, working in partnership with local communities, and collaborating with voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations. This supports the national shift towards providing more care closer to people’s homes. As part of this work, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is proposing to close two wards (48 beds in total) in the Castle View Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. This is also in response to the number of people who remain in hospital after they no longer need hospital-level treatment. You can find out more on the ICB website: LSC Integrated Care Board :: Right care, right place: proposed reduction in beds at Royal Lancaster Infirmary
By completing the short questionnaire, you can help shape and develop the proposal, guided by the principle of providing the right care in the right place. To share your views, please access the questionnaire using the link below: Have your say here. Comments are closed.
