· ELCAP Ltd awarded £5,000 grant. · Funding will support work on a radio advertising campaign. · PAT Testing day will be held at the radio studios. East Lancashire Community Action Project Ltd, a registered charity based in Nelson, has won significant funding to deliver a project, which will aim to tackle the importance of electrical safety through the use of a community radio service. The grant award of £5,000 will be spent on an electrical safety advertising campaign via Pendle Community Radio, a full-time OFCOM licenced community radio station, which broadcasts on the 103.1FM frequency throughout East Lancashire. In addition to the radio advertising campaign, a series of LIVE radio shows and interviews will be organised with expert guests who will aim to highlight and raise awareness of electrical safety by providing accurate, up to date information, guidance and key safety tips for the listeners. There will also be a PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) day held at the radio studios where listeners will be encouraged to bring in their electrical appliances which will then be PAT tested by a qualified electrician. Moazzam Ali, Station Manager at Pendle Community Radio, is thrilled to have been awarded the grant funding: “We are delighted to have once again secured this grant funding from the Electrical Safety Fund which will allow us to highlight and raise awareness about the importance of electrical safety, whether that is in people’s homes or at their workplaces. We look forward to holding the PAT testing day at the radio studios and hopefully can get the local community involved in the project. Thank you to the amazing team at Electrical Safety First for the grant award and all the support they have provided to our organisation.” Further details about the project will be shared soon.
