Hinrichsen Foundation The Hinrichsen Foundation provides funds to support projects that see contemporary music being published, recorded or commissioned and are able to support individuals, community groups or charities. Applicants must be based in the United Kingdom. Priority will be given to projects involving composers and activity based in the UK, though activity does not have to solely take place in the UK. The application process is completed via an online form which you can find on the website, along with their upcoming deadlines (of which there are usually two a year) and further information on the required information for applications. As well as completing the online application form applicants need to provide supporting information about the proposal, details of the grant being requested and independent and professional references. The Hinrichsen Foundation rarely supports applications where it is the sole funder of the work. Applicants are expected to indicate another source of income (either secured or projected e.g. ticket sales). Grant Types:
The Ulverscroft Foundation The Ulverscroft Foundation is a UK based charity supporting visually impaired people. The Foundation supplies grants to organisations looking for help with projects relating to improving the quality of life of visually impaired people. Funding is mainly given to organisations directly helping the visually impaired, including libraries, schools, colleges and hospitals, charities, CICs or social groups Funding can be considered from UK or overseas based organisations. Any organisation applying is only able to submit one application every 18 months regardless of the outcome of the application. The Foundation is keen to support specific projects and associated costs, with capital costs, core salaries and general running costs not supported. Trustees meet quarterly with dates published on their website. Applications can be made in writing by downloading, completing and posting or e mailing an application form. The Charles Hayward Foundation The Charles Hayward Foundation supports registered charities through small and main grant programmes within specific categories. Main Grants: Social and Criminal Justice Aiming to prevent people entering the criminal justice system and to support those already in the system to move on and rebuild their lives. Funding early intervention programmes with young children and their families, tailored preventative work with young people at risk, and holistic support services aimed at reducing re-offending and aiding re-settlement. The Foundation also looks to alleviate the consequences of domestic abuse. Charities must have an annual income of between £350,000 and £4,000,000. The trustees will fund projects over one to three years with grants of £15,000 – £25,000 per annum. Overseas This area is open to UK based charities that are undertaking projects in the Commonwealth Countries of Africa. Charities must have an annual income between £150,000 and £4,000,000. Grants are up to £15,000 for one off projects. Small Grants: Older People Grants are up to £7,000 for programmes that provide:
