We have so many great courses for young people aged 16-30 to get involved in. Courses are free and give people the tools to build their confidence, find a job or start their own business.

We offer free funding through our Development Awards

Ages: 16-30


Our Development Awards are grants to help young people overcome financial barriers to training, employment or education. They can cover the cost of accredited course fees, tools or equipment, ID, uniform, and other barriers to achieving their goals.
The award amount varies based on individual needs and goals, but typically range from £175- £200.
To be eligible, young people must be:


  • Aged 16-30 and living in the UK
  • Studying less than 14 hours a week or not in compulsory education
  • Unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week.

Location: Lancashire and Cumbria
Main Programme: Starting Sep 25
Ages: 16-25


Join Team, our 12-week personal development programme, for the chance to gain new skills, earn a qualification and meet like-minded people.


Young people will take part in a group community project, go on a fun-filled residential trip, and develop their English, maths, communication and teamwork skills.

Get into Engineering w/ BAE Systems

Location: Barrow
Taster Day: 24 Sep 25
Main Programmes: 6 Oct- 25 Oct or 3 Nov - 21 Nov 25
Ages: 18-30


On this course, young people will take part in an onsite work experience placement, develop new skills, improve their CV and boost their interview technique, learn about job opportunities and apprenticeships with BAE Systems.


Successful young people will be assigned to one of the programmes. 


To be eligible, young people must be aged 18-30, a UK National, not in any work, training or education and have photo ID.
