The Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network are hosting an interactive workshop supporting professionals to have conversations about money with households experiencing poverty. 📆 2nd June, 10:30am-11:30am 📍Online, Microsoft Teams Talking about money can feel taboo, especially when money, or lack thereof, is a significant source of stress in someone's life. Households experiencing poverty can feel embarrassed to talk about their financial situation for fear of judgement or stigma, and professionals working on the frontline of services may not want to pry into someone's money worries, or talking about money may not be your organisation's area of expertise.
However, by not having these conversations, families and individuals are being trapped in cycles of poverty, not knowing where to turn for support. When we start to talk about money in a way that is simple, friendly and supportive, we engage in early intervention for households in poverty, before crisis strikes. The Lancashire Anti-Poverty Network is hosting an interactive workshop which will support professionals to start having these often tricky, but vital, conversations. The workshop will cover the principles and practicalities of having conversations about money, support resources you can use, and offer an opportunity to test your money conversation skills in a number of different scenarios. You can book your space and share this event with your networks here. We look forward to seeing you there! Comments are closed.
