Ad-Hoc Adult Trainer / Teacher We’re looking for passionate and experienced Adult Trainers / Teachers to join our team on a casual, ad-hoc basis. This flexible role involves delivering engaging, face-to-face training across North West Lancashire, helping adult learners develop new skills, gain recognised qualifications, and build confidence. We are seeking trainers with expertise in areas such as First Aid.

The Role
Are you an engaging educator looking for flexible work that fits your schedule? We are seeking dynamic, adaptable, and professional Ad-Hoc Adult Trainers / Teachers to deliver high-quality, in-person training sessions across the North West Lancashire district.

In this role, you will step into various venues to inspire a diverse mix of professionals and volunteers through impactful workshops and short courses. What you will teach
We are looking for specialists capable of delivering one or more of the following:

• First Aid (Compliance)
• Safeguarding – (compliance)
• Health and Safety (compliance)
• Food Hygiene/Safety (compliance)
• Maths (Functional skills/adult numeracy)
• Digital Skills
• Family Courses (Community-focused family learning workshops)
• Community and Personal Development programmes (bespoke packages)
• Employability skills
• Health and wellbeing programmes including Neurodiversity

 
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver interactive, engaging, and inclusive in-person training sessions to adult learners.
• Facilitate group discussions, practical exercises, and workshops effectively.
• Create positive, inclusive and supportive learning environments to meet the diverse needs and learning paces of adult peers.
• Build strong relationships with learners, employers and partner organisations.
• Bring enthusiasm, empathy and professionalism to your work.
• Set up basic on-site technical equipment (projectors, laptops) to ensure smooth session delivery.

 
 
 
What we need from you (Essential)

• Qualifications: A recognised adult teaching or training qualification (e.g., Level 3 AET, PTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent) alongside verified expertise in your subject field.
• Experience: Proven track record of delivering face-to-face instruction specifically to adult audiences, who may not believe in themselves.
• Flexibility: Ability to accept bookings on an as-needed basis and step into sessions confidently with short notice.
• Mobility: A reliable vehicle to travel across North West Lancashire.
• Key Skills: Exceptional communication skills, strong troubleshooting abilities for classroom tech, and a deep understanding of adult learning principles.

 
What we’d love to see (Desirable)

• A current, enhanced DBS check (ideally registered on the Update Service).
• Active teaching experience in your specialist subject area/s.
