Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale CVS Achieves Prestigious LIQA Accreditation

5/11/2026

We are proud to announce that Burnley, Pendle & Rossendale CVS (BPRCVS) has successfully achieved the Local Infrastructure Quality Accreditation (LIQA), a nationally recognised quality standard awarded by NAVCA. This achievement means that we are currently the only organisation in Lancashire to hold this prestigious accreditation, demonstrating the quality, effectiveness and impact of the support we provide to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. The accreditation is valid until November 2029.

LIQA is a rigorous national accreditation that assesses how effectively infrastructure organisations support local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations. Following an independent assessment of our services, governance, partnerships and impact, BPRCVS successfully met the required standards across all areas of assessment.

This accreditation recognises the vital role we play in strengthening the local voluntary sector, supporting organisations to grow, helping communities influence decision-makers, and creating opportunities for people to get involved through volunteering and community action.

Supporting a Stronger Voluntary Sector
Every day, we work with charities, community groups, social enterprises and volunteers across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. From helping organisations access funding and improve governance, to providing training, safeguarding support and development opportunities, our aim is to help local groups become stronger, more sustainable and better equipped to support their communities.

The assessment highlighted our strong understanding of local needs and recognised the role we play in ensuring that the voices of local organisations are heard.

Through networks such as Burnley Linked, People of Pendle, we bring organisations together to share ideas, discuss challenges and influence positive change across our communities.

Building Partnerships That Make a Difference
Partnership working is at the heart of everything we do. The assessment recognised our strong relationships with local authorities, health partners, funders and voluntary sector organisations, enabling us to bring people together and create opportunities for collaboration.

These partnerships help ensure that local communities and grassroots organisations have a voice in important conversations and can play an active role in shaping services and support across the area.

Championing Volunteering
Volunteering is an important part of thriving communities, and the assessment highlighted the impact of our volunteering services. Through our Volunteer Hub and Get Volunteering platform, we help connect local people with meaningful volunteering opportunities while supporting organisations to recruit, train and retain volunteers.

Our work to promote volunteering and reduce barriers to participation continues to make a positive difference across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale, helping people contribute their skills, gain experience and support causes they care about.

A Milestone Achievement

Achieving LIQA is a significant milestone for BPRCVS and provides independent recognition of the quality, professionalism and impact of our work.

We are incredibly proud to be the only organisation in Lancashire to have achieved this national accreditation, and we see it as a reflection of the dedication shown by our staff, trustees, volunteers, partners and the many organisations we work alongside every day.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting, developing and championing the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. We will continue working with our partners and communities to ensure local organisations have the support they need to thrive and make a lasting difference.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the assessment process and everyone who continues to work with us to strengthen our communities. This achievement belongs to the whole sector, and we look forward to building on this success over the years ahead.
