Are you a VCFSE organisation looking for volunteers? We have a scheme that could help you. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) offer a Work Experience initiative designed to help jobseekers build confidence, develop workplace skills, and gain valuable insight into different industries. The programme is voluntary and typically lasts between two and eight weeks (with the potential to continue longer in some cases), giving participants the opportunity to improve their employability while supporting local organisations.
For volunteer including groups and organisations, it provides a simple and low risk way to engage with motivated individuals, contribute to the local community, and support workforce development. There is no financial cost to organisations, as participants remain on benefits and DWP can support with travel and related expenses where appropriate. DWP provides ongoing support throughout the process, including helping organisations register, matching suitable participants, and offering guidance to ensure placements are beneficial for both the individual and the host organisation. If you are interested we are holding a sign up event at BPRCVS offices on Yorkshire St., Burnley during Volunteers' Week (4/6/26). Please see flyer above for details on how to sign up. We also have on hand the Volunteer Hub who can help you with how you can develop your volunteer offering. We have put in place a networking area with refreshments. Book into a slot to sign up then sit and relax for half an hour and talk to us about how we can support you to thrive. Comments are closed.
