There is plenty to look forward to this September as the Pendleside Repair Café returns to the recently renovated Barley Chapel Hall. The Repair Café has been going from strength to strength, with an amazing 40 repairs completed over the last two months. Every repair means something gets a new lease of life rather than ending up in the bin helping to save money, reduce waste and keep useful items in use. We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Pendle to the Repair Café in August. It was wonderful to have the Mayor visit, meet our volunteers, see our repairers in action and find out more about the difference the Repair Café is making in our local community. As always, visitors can expect a warm and friendly welcome from our fantastic team of volunteer repairers and refreshments team. This month, our skilled repairers will be on hand to help with:
And this month there is another good reason to visit. Come and have a look around the newly renovated chapel hall, meet the volunteers and enjoy a good old-fashioned brew and a piece of homemade cake while you have a chat. The Repair Café is about much more than fixing things. It is about bringing people together, sharing skills, learning from one another and making a difference in our local community. The success of the last two months shows just what can be achieved when people give their time and skills to help others. Can you spare a little time? Before the Repair Café, we are also giving the chapel a good clean on 1st September. If you have a spare hour or two and would like to lend a hand, your help would be very much appreciated. So, whether you are a skilled fixer, someone who enjoys helping behind the scenes, or simply fancy a cuppa and a slice of cake, come along and be part of Pendleside Repair Café! We look forward to welcoming you! — Lorraine Goldsbrough Comments are closed.
