Thank you for your continued support and for taking the time to respond to previous surveys undertaken across Lancashire regarding local government reorganisation. Your engagement and feedback have been invaluable in helping us understand business views and shape the five options that were developed for Lancashire and submitted to Government in November 2025. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has now launched its statutory consultation which, while aimed at a statutory consultee list, is open to residents and stakeholders.
We appreciate that this requires further time from you, however, it is important that the Government hears from businesses in Burnley, as this is the final opportunity to have your say on the future of local government structures in Lancashire. This consultation runs from 5th February to 26th March 2026 and represents the final opportunity for residents, businesses and stakeholders to share their views . The consultation has been designed and is being run by the Government. Surveys can be completed online at: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/local-government-reorganisation-in-lancashire-blackburn-with-darwen-and-blackpool Paper copies of the consultation are available at:
