The Impact of our Waiting for Wellness Part 1

In October 2023, we published our first Waiting for Wellness report which explored people’s experiences of mental health and accessing services in Lancashire.

We received feedback from 156 people which revealed that the main barrier to accessing NHS mental health services was the long waiting lists, leaving people feeling let down and unsure where they could receive support. Despite waiting lists being lengthy, more than half of respondents were not signposted to additional support whilst on a waiting list.

In May 2024, LSCFT (Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust) updated us on what actions they had taken in response to our recommendations so far.

Our visit to Chorley and South Ribble Hospital
Healthwatch Lancashire participated in an engagement event at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital on Tuesday 16th July 2024 from 8:15am-11:30am.

We spoke with patients entering and leaving the hospital, and volunteers during this time about different health and social care services including the hospital.

Cora - Communications and Administrative Coordinator
Hi my name is Cora  and this week has been my first week with at Healthwatch Lancashire as the new Communications and Administrative Coordinator! I am incredibly passionate about social media and content creation which bodes well for my new role! I am super excited to have joined the team here at Healthwatch Lancashire, so far I have been enjoying getting to know the ins and outs of the organisation and learning more about the wonderful team!
