Social Prescribing Link Worker Survey

The NHS England Social Prescribing Team has published this year’s annual Social Prescribing Link Worker (SPLW) survey, which gives SPLWs the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives of their role over the last 12 months on topics including:

• Employment
• Training, Development and Supervision
• Equipment and System Access
• SPLW Role and Skills

 Responses from the last survey were used to inform the development of the SPLW Workforce Development Framework which was published in January 2023, and based on survey feedback, the social prescribing e-learning modules have been refreshed. Feedback continues to inform the work of NHS England, including policy and strategy development and ongoing work around career progression.


The survey will enable the Social Prescribing Team to obtain as accurate a picture as possible of the SPLW landscape, including training and development opportunities, career aspirations, SPLW support offers and use of clinical IT systems. Your responses will help to inform the national support offer for SPLWs, policy and guidance documents, as well as quality improvement measures.
