Introducing you and Healthy Hearts Campaign

17/10/2025

Picture
The Healthy Hearts campaign is a collaboration between Lancashire County Council, Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, Together an Active Future and We Are Undefeatable.

The campaign features real-life stories of ten Lancashire residents living with a range of heart conditions (including Heart attack, Stroke, High Blood Pressure) and how physical activity has helped improve both their physical health and mental well-being.  To view all the stories visit Healthy Hearts - Lancashire County Council

The campaign aims to encourage people aged 45+ living with a pre-existing heart condition or at risk of developing one to become more active.  The areas where we are focussing this campaign are where the rate of premature mortality from CVD is significantly higher than the English average, as listed on the LCC website.  Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale are all included in this campaign.
To date the campaign has being promoted in a variety of ways including:

  • Social media
  • Digital media
  • Billboards & digital screens in supermarkets, pharmacies and some GP surgeries
  • Posters have been sent to all GP’s surgeries in Lancashire and LCC have shared them with all the libraries too – if you’d like some printed copies, please let me know
  • Maildrop to homes.  NB: The text in the Direct Mail and Colne Life magazine includes names of local organisations unlike the stories on the website which are generic to aid greater reach.
  • Printed publications, where possible – Asiya and Nick will be featuring in the next edition of the Colne Life magazine.
  • The ICB has also shared the digital pack with all GP’s via their ‘Daily Digest’ e-newsletter
  • LCC have issued a news release about the campaign: Meet the heart survivors transforming their lives and their communities | Lancashire County Council News
  • We’ve also shared the campaign with district councils and leisure providers.

We’ve created a campaign pack where you can download a suggested social media content plan and range of assets in different sizes but in the meantime I’ve attached posters, direct mail copy and social media assets for Ken who lives in Burnley, Asiya who lives in Pendle and Nick who lives in Rossendale.  We’d love you and other voluntary organisations to utilise and share the stories on your own comms channels to inspire local people to move more to improve their health and wellbeing.
