Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside

We’re delighted to share the Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside Annual Review 2024/25, a look back at a year defined by resilience and the power of local giving. 

In 2024/25, we distributed over £3.18 million in funding, through 632 grants to organisations and individuals who are making a tangible difference across our region.  ​

​Defining moments from the year include: 

• 15 years of partnership with Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation, with over £1.1 million distributed to date. 
  
  
• The Care Leavers Project, which awarded £100,000 to young people transitioning out of care. 
  
  
• The launch of the Marsden Building Society Business Deposit Affinity Account, directing funds into mental health and wellbeing projects. 
  
  
• The extraordinary generosity shown in response to Southport attack raising more than £850,000 following the tragic event in July 2024. 
  
  
• Welcoming Ram Gupta, CEO of Nybble IT to the Board of Trustees 

Alongside key figures, the review shares powerful case studies. These stories bring to life the difference that grassroots organisations make every day. 

Our Vital Signs research highlights the ongoing challenges in our region. It also points to the solution, empowering local people and investing in small charities that know their communities best. 

None of this would be possible without the commitment of our donors, partners, and trustees. Their generosity ensures resources reach where they are needed most, and their trust allows us to continue growing local giving across Lancashire and Merseyside.
