Champions: It's White Ribbon Month!

1/11/2023

Champions, it's time to spread the wordWhite Ribbon UK is hosting a series of webinars to mark how you can #ChangeTheStory for White Ribbon Day and beyond. Webinars will run throughout the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. Covering a wide range of topics, from 'Healthy Expressions of Masculinity' to bystander intervention training, these online events will have something for everyone to learn how they can #ChangeTheStory for women and girls.

We hope to see you at one of these events and that you'll circulate these opportunities to learn about men's role in ending VAWG with men and boys in your community.

To ensure these webinars are accessible to as many as possible, we've made most of these events free and encourage participants to donate what they can.

Here are a few more ways you can support White Ribbon Day:

1. Wear and display the White Ribbon throughout November. We have FIVE new products to help you raise awareness about men's violence against women. Visit the White Ribbon Shop to purchase our latest awareness-raising materials. In addition to limited edition #ChangeTheStory banners, posters and T-shirts, we've also launched White Ribbon armbands and window stickers.

Champion tip: The first 100 'Find Help' cards are free. Order today and leave these around your community so people experiencing abuse know where to go

2. Write to your MP and help us continue holding the UK Government accountable to women. White Ribbon UK is the secretariat for the White Ribbon All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG). It works with parliamentarians to identify and support measures that prevent VAWG from happening in our society. Ask your MP to mark White Ribbon Day this year by joining the White Ribbon APPG, showing their commitment to stopping violence before it starts.

Download this template letter to write to your MP. Find your MP here.

3. Encourage men and boys to make the White Ribbon PromiseLet's make White Ribbon Day 2023 the most successful one yet. One of the responsibilities of the Champion role is to encourage 100 people to make the White Ribbon Promise.
Are you ready? Download the promise QR code to keep on your phone.
