Lionel Street Parties With Meghan & Harry

Lionel Street residents celebrated the royal wedding

BPRCVS and Gannow Big Local helped residents of Lionel Street, Burnley to celebrate the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on 19th May 2018.

Sarah Tomas called into Gannow Community Centre on 18th May 2018 to talk about an idea she had for a street party.  After a conversation with staff she had all the chairs and tables needed to set up the party held in Lionel Street.

Jason Collinge, volunteer caretaker at the Centre, kindly helped Sarah and other residents to move the tables and chairs to the pavement in Lionel Street on the morning of 19th May. Residents had a ‘Jacob’s Join’, with everyone contributing to a great community celebration.

Sarah said, ‘Thank you to BPRCVS and Gannow Big Local for lending us the chairs and tables. We had a great time wishing the royal couple all the very best for their future.’
