BPRCVS Trustee Margaret Ann Lishman

Appointed as an individual member to Board of Trustees

I became a BPRCVS Trustee in 2016 and I became a BPRCVS Trustee because I firmly believe the work of the CVS is vital to help support and develop groups and services within our area for the benefit of residents.

I’m a member of the Board of Trustees and of the Finance and HR committee. I try to be as helpful and constructive as I can to help the staff and the organisation.

I am now retired and so have some time available. I have good management skills and a sound knowledge in governance, risk management, HR and finance.

Formerly, I was a senior manager in the Health Service, initially as a provider of services and latterly commissioning services in primary and community care, mental health and substance misuse services.

I have been a councillor on Burnley Borough Council for Briercliffe Ward for 28 years. I am also a member of the Parish Council. I am a school governor at Shuttleworth College and a Trustee of Emmaus. I also chair the Dementia Action Alliance for Burnley.

I have lived in Briercliffe for over 30 years now and love the people and the area. I have always tried to be active in the community and to do my best to represent local residents and deal with their issues. I enjoy going to the theatre, reading all sorts and cooking and eating! Nowadays some time is spent with our 5 grandchildren and going to visit interesting places on holiday. BPRCVS allows me to put my skills to good use to help our local communities.
